Teaching - Option A for EC-6, 4-8, and EC-12, A.A.T.

The Associate of Arts in Teaching is designed for students pursuing certification in Early Childhood (EC)-6, 4-8, and EC-12. Early Childhood Degree Specialization is not offered. Students in the program will gain an understanding of curriculum instruction and teaching to special populations. A field experience is also a requirement of this program.

 

Degree Requirements (Total Credit Hours 60-61)


Mathematics (3 hours)


Social and Behavioral Sciences (15 hours)


Kinesiology (2 hours)


Select 2 credit hours from the Kinesiology (90) Core 

Notes:


A course may be used only once to fulfill degree requirements.

Check with the four-year institution to which you plan to transfer to ensure that courses taken at NVC are the courses that will apply to the appropriate degree.

Students need a total of 3 science classes; at least 1 MUST have a lab.

Only one of the following courses can be taken for credit:
     ASTR 1304
     GEOG 1301
     GEOL 1403
     GEOL 1405 

Students can not take both CHEM 1305 and CHEM 1405 for credit
