concentration in New Media Arts

Return to Programs and Courses Return to: Programs and Courses

The Associate of Arts (AA) degrees are specifically designed for transfer as the equivalent of the first half of the Baccalaureate Degree requirements of most public colleges and Universities.

This program was designed to address career objectives that span over two disciplines; Digital Media and New Media.

Students will gain a theoretical understanding of color theory, aesthetics, and visual presentation in the business world and will be exposed to hands-on technical skills needed for application and distribution of new media works. Career fields include but are not limited to: graphic/visual design, user interface design, and various new media design fields.

The goal is for students to further their education by simultaneously obtaining an Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Media before transferring into a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) degree at any accredited university offering BAAS degrees or the following institutions: Texas A&M San Antonio, North Texas (online), University of Texas at Tyler, and Texas A&M Commerce (online).

This degree contains occupationally-specific credits that may not be accepted at other institutions.
