The Associate of Arts (AA) degrees are specifically designed for transfer as the equivalent of the first half of the Baccalaureate Degree requirements of most public colleges and Universities.
The New Media Communication concentration is designed to synchronously address career objectives that span over two disciplines; Digital Video & Cinema Production and Communication.
Students will gain a theoretical understanding of mass media usage in the business world and will be exposed to hands-on technical skills needed for application and distribution of new media communication forms. Career fields include but are not limited to: broadcasting, public relations, web publishing, and various fields of communications.
The goal is for students to further their education by simultaneously obtaining an Associate of Applied Science degree in Digital Video & Cinema Production before transferring into a Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences (BAAS) degree at any accredited university offering BAAS degrees or at the following institutions: Texas A&M San Antonio, North Texas (online), University of Texas at Tyler, and Texas A&M Commerce (online).
This degree contains occupationally-specific credits that may not be accepted at other institutions.
