Return to: Degrees and Certificates - by Degree Type The Associate of Applied Science in Water Resource Science will prepare students for employment in the water treatment industry. Upon degree completion, students will obtain the technical and scientific knowledge to obtain licensure in this field of study. Students will monitor, troubleshoot, and chemically clean equipment that is essential for the treatment of water/wastewater. In addition, the AAS allows the opportunity to move into supervisory roles.
Students have further opportunities to advance their education with a 2+2 program developed with Texas A&M San Antonio.

The Associate of Applied Science in Water Resource Science will prepare students for employment in the water treatment industry. Upon degree completion, students will obtain the technical and scientific knowledge to obtain licensure in this field of study. Students will monitor, troubleshoot, and chemically clean equipment that is essential for the treatment of water/wastewater. The program centers on project-based learning in which students are introduced to the public health aspects of potable water supply, operation of wells, process control procedures, techniques and equipment, advanced water mathematics, water treatment systems, water treatment plant equipment, water analysis pretreatment membranes, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, and other high purity technologies.
