Associate of Arts, concentration in Mexican-American Studies


Northwest Vista College’s Mexican-American Studies program fulfills the transfer requirements of all public, four-year colleges and universities in the State of Texas for students seeking a baccalaureate degree with a major in Mexican-American Studies. The material covered through this degree program conveys the broad, rich, and varied experiences of people of Mexican descent in the United States. The Mexican American Studies program provides students with an understanding of the history, societal relations, folklore, literature, and politics of Mexican-American culture, along with an awareness of the many contributions of the Mexican-American community to United States society.

 

Degree Requirements (Total Credit Hours 60)


Mathematics (3 hours)


Select 1 course from the Mathematics (20) Core 

Natural Sciences (7 hours)


Select 2 courses from the Natural Sciences (30) Core 

Kinesiology (2 hours)


Select 2 credit hours from the Kinesiology (90) Core 

Additional Requirements (4 hours)


Electives (11 hours)


Select 11 credit hours of electives
