Pharmacy Technology ASHP Professional, Certificate

Return to: Degree Plans & Certificates - By Degree Type The Pharmacy Technology program provides students with the technical knowledge and practical skills required of a l technician in either community or hospital pharmacy settings. This certificate program offers a comprehensive curriculum of didactic as well as hands-on training in prescription filling, inventory packaging, patient profiling, sterile products preparation, and pharmacy calculations.
Northwest Vista College is accredited for pharmacy technician training by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP). All ASHP accredited programs have requirements of a student screening and selection process and an external learning experience (Internship/Practicum) of at least 120 hours.
In accordance with ASHP accreditation requirements, students must interview with the Pharmacy Technology Program Coordinator and be recommended for continuation in the program beyond the first semester. Students must apply and interview for the Professional Certificate option (second semester courses) by October 15th of each Fall Semester. No applications will be considered after October 15th.
