Notes:
Engineering students should first complete the Accuplacer, and then contact the Engineering Department if desiring consideration for higher initial placement in mathematics sequence.
All engineering students should enroll in MIM (math intensive mathematics) MATH sections, when available.
A course may be used only once to fulfill degree requirements.
Check with the four-year institution to which you plan to transfer to ensure that courses taken at NVC are the courses that will apply to the appropriate degree.
Students should select only those elective courses which are on listed on the articulation (transfer) agreements and are part of the degree requirements for the planned university and major. General transfer credit (that is, courses which are not covered in an articulation agreement for transfer and or are not listed on the degree plan for a bachelor’s degree at the four-year institution) will generally not apply as credit for a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Please talk to an advisor to clarify.
Students cannot take both ENGR 2301 and ENGR 2303 or ENGR 2403 for credit
Students cannot take both ENGR 2305 and ENGR 2407 for credit
Students cannot take both CHEM 1311 and 1411 for credit
Students cannot take both CHEM 1312 and 1412 for credit
It is highly recommended that students who register for ENGR2305 also co-register for ENGR2105 in the same semester.
Note that other engineering, science, or mathematics electives may be approved by the department on a case by case basis. Students should petition for substitution of course requirements if engineering, science or mathematics credit is transferred from another institution.
#These courses are not offered at NVC, but may be offered at one of the Alamo Colleges.
*These courses are listed on the Field of Study in Engineering by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
